Paul Kan is the Chairman and founder of Champion Technology , a Hong Kong-based technology group founded in 1987 and renowned for its introduction of the world’s first Chinese character and multi-lingual pager and paging system in 1988. Mr Kan has been granted an honour in recognition of his long-term commitment to sustain and improve the business performance of his UK operation, Multitone, which was acquired by Champion Technology in 1993, and has maintained a leadership position as an IT solutions provider to the healthcare and fire services sectors. In 2001, Multitone won the HSBC Exporter of the Year Award.
Under Mr Kan's leadership , Champion Technology Group has expanded its global footprint to over 50 markets worldwide where it offers a wide range of innovative IT and communications solutions.
British Consul-General to Hong Kong, Stephen Bradley, said “Paul Kan has demonstrated his commitment to management excellence in his UK operations. In particular he has invested in the human resources of his UK operations, placing a high priority on the work/life balance and the health and welfare of his staff. I am delighted that his high standard of management ethics in his business endeavours is being recognised in this honour”.
An elated Paul Kan remarked “ I feel so honoured, but this tribute is to be shared amongst all of us within the Group, as an award for the whole team, to recognise and endorse the work we do”.
